Family to Family Education Program

In Collaboration with Community Alliance, NAMI Omaha sponsors a FAMILY-TO-FAMILY EDUCATION PROGRAM

 

Free course for family members, partners and significant others
of individuals with mental illnesses and/or brain disorders.

 

Major Depression
Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression)
Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Borderline Personality Disorder
Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Co-Occurring Brain Disorders, Addictive Disorders
Other mental illnesses

 

A series of 12 classes (1 session weekly) structured to help caregivers understand and support individuals with mental health issues while maintaining their own well-being. The course is taught by trained NAMI family members offering information about mental illnesses, coping, medications, resources, and family communication.

Next class in Omaha:

Thursdays, June 22 through August 24, 5:30 -8:30 pm at

Community Alliance, 41st and Leavenworth. 

REGISTER by June 15. 

Other courses will begin in September after Labor Day. 

 

These courses are sponsored by NAMI Omaha with assistance for materials from

Region 6 Behavioral Health Services.  Each course is limited to 25 people.
