New NAMI Basics Class (Parents with Children Who Have Mental Health Issues)

BASICS: A free 6-week course for parents of children and adolescents with severe emotional or mental health issues. Includes how to work with schools. Begins on Saturdays, 9-11:30 am, March 3 at Family Support Network. Childcare provided.

Nami Basics is a free 6 week educational class for family and parents to help children and teens who are experiencing signs and symptoms of mental illness or who have may have already been diagnosed.

You will learn a lot about mental health conditions and the best way to help your child at your home. 99% of the parents who have had the opportunity to take the class have found it beneficial, and recommend it to other parents or caregivers.

The course is taught by train team who have lived experience so they understand what you’re going through because they have been there. These sessions will provide excellent strategies for helping to care for your child and learning the ropes of recovery.
